Remix Contest Renegade Update

Postby TimoV » 22 Mar 2010 17:26

It took us some time but you can't blame us after the amount of remixes we received in our inbox. Going through all the tracks gave us great hope for the future of trance, there is so much talent out there in the world!

Thank you all for participating and the effort each individual put in the contest but as you know, only one track can be named the winner.

With great pride we present to you the official Trance Energy anthem 'Renegade' remix…

Sander van Doorn – Renegade (Sean Truby Remix)

We congratulate Sean Truby with his remix which we found most fitting for the B side of the official Renegade release by Sander van Doorn, made possible by Spinnin' Records.

We are sure we will hear much more of him in the future.

Renegade by Sander van Doorn wil be released March 22nd, this monday!
The remix by Sean Truby will be available April 5th.

i'm just curious to see which producers joined, i don't think big stars joined this but wouldn't be strange for me to find a ronski speed remix there for example. I didn't joined because i knew that was nothing to do

My DJ teacher joined also, his remix was very cool I must say.
Maybe if I ask him I can get the track for us here.

i don't like it very much, i don't like any of the remixes i have listened of this track, i think that can't get better, this one is original and show off some good skills but lacks of the energy the original gives.

Original is like "this is a common track, i am going to skip..." and suddenly it explodes and everybody goes nuts, some drinks fall on the floor, people faint... it's renegade.

As is said i didn't joined this because i knew some good names would join and it is so hard to make something better like this, the best remix you can do of the song is make the beginning and the song a bit more energetic, and maybe replace that pad part with something that grews in crescendo to have a mini breakdown with that whistles.

This is what i'd have done but one thing is saying other doing it :)

I have to be honest here: Renegade resembles for me a downfall of ID&T anthems that has occured for the last few years.

The last real anthem of Trance Energy for example was (in my opinion) Advanced by Marcel Woods.
But even this track, as great as it is, I don't really consider to be the kind of anthem.
For this I would have to grab back to Svenson & Gielen's Sunlight Theory or the 2002/2003 anthems
of Sensation.

Rank 1 did a pretty good job last year, but Renegade as well as Ernesto & Bastian's Thrill...
They just don't really cut it as anthems in my (humble) opinion.

Joop - The future is a good anthem, W & W ripped it and made "Mustang"

Forgot all about The Future :P
Just like Advanced I think it is a real nice track, but a true anthem needs to be bombastic, epic...
With a flavor of classical sounds I guess
To make it sound antique

yes i think the same, when i listened to renegade the first time i thought that it was a very bad anthem, hasn't got the feeling of an anthem but it's a really good track, floor killer.

Have to agree with you on that one, it's not an anthem but what can you do...

Well, I don't even realy care who won this contest :P

But L.E.D. There Be Light is an amazing anthem yes. Renegade is a bouncing track, but It's not a TE anthem.
Better they choose Trance tracks. Let Rank 1 or W&W create something I'd say.

I'd rather vote for Daniel Kandi or Andy Blueman
