The Energy change - an interview

Taken from a facebook group called "WAITING FOR TE 2011", although TE 2011 come along, the admin did an interview with Pixie, don't know who he is, probably member of the organisation:

"Dear all,

Here are the main outcomes of the chat with Pixie (which is now member of this group and is reading this message, so, please, let’s moderate words . The chat was quite long and interesting, but – due to the limits of fb chat – we had not much time as we needed and we could not go in depth for some concepts. I will then try to make a synthesis

1) Reasons for the change:
“Id&T recognizes the fact that trance energy has always been a successful event”; however some new elements in the logic of the market (“in order to compete with all the other events in the same months for the dutch market” ) and in the logic of music trends (“in combination with conversations with (trance) artist we investigated the change in the trance dance scene which led us to change the name and broaden the musical program” , they decided to propose this change.
This is a quite honest and clear answer in my opinion; however I still think that Trance music is more than a music, as it has an inner magic element inside, and trying to make an evolution of it is a dangerous risk. It is also true that some trance artists felt the need of evolve their music style, while others kept themselves faithful to the original trance-elements.

My question is: “Who is at the moment your current target”? Where do they come from? Which is their musical main taste?


2) Line up

The line up is final and official; there is really nothing that we can do. However, I proposed that maybe they could invert a bit the order of some djs in order to avoid overlaps in the performance of the “pure” trance energy who are there. Pixie said that they will think about it.

My question is:
I agree with the fact that final line up cannot be modified (and also it would not be nice choosing a trance artist and not another one) ; however I think you can add a “special artist” (trance of course) and in particular I propose 2 ideas :

- a FEMALE trance artists (like Dj Nifra, Claudia Cazacu, Linnea Schossow, 3 female presence in dj MAG top 100). If, as you say, Trance is in an evolution process, it is also important to award and promote a female dj
- a “Trance dj contest” for young djs, involving also trance web radio shows where they winner will have the possibility to perform at Energy 11


3) Joint document

Pixie asked to receive the document we will make (by the end of November, promised!); I agree with this and if ID&T wants first to make an official statement is welcome, so that we can better provide our feedback and position.


4) T-shirts

Pixie is happy
T-shirt is in progress; I also want to ask our member Louise Allen who designed a very nice tshirt. I will keep you updated!


For the moment…that’s all. I want to thank Pixie Beau from ID&T for her kind feedback …I will go to Utrecht and check if Energy 2011 will be the last and final chapter of the history of trance energy or the beginning of a new book where trance is able to maintain its magic features.

It can't be the final chapter, cause there is House and too less Trance DJ's .. and the name is ~Word Censored~ up.
In other words: Trance Energy is dead, en there is just a new party which has the meaning to replace Trance Energy.. but they can't replace it Never.
